SIIS are a family-owned ironmongers with locations in Kirkaldy, Dundee, Dunfermline and Edinburgh. SIIS takes pride in its long-standing commitment to their customer base across Scotland and indeed across the UK. Customers travel from far and wide to its local well-stocked outlets or make use of its online store.

With annual revenue of over £5m, a strong leadership team and a profitable enterprise, the family owners realised that now was a good time to consider retirement. The owner was referred to me by several people within the power tool sector who knew that we were interested in speaking to owners of well-run profitable companies.

My approach

  • After holding lengthy discussions to determine the current needs of the business and what the future may look like, we laid out an exit plan for the current owner.
  • To ensure a seamless transition for all parties, we agreed the current GM would be the ideal candidate to lead the company toward our future development plans.
  • One of our fastest deals to date, taking exactly three months from first contact to a completed sale. Just in time for the owner to go and relax on a well-earned holiday!

From the first contact through to the conclusion of the deal Steve was their 24/7 to answer any questions or concerns regarding the acquisition process.
